The Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships Scholarship is an opportunity for selected fellows to gain both leadership and technical skills, while contributing directly to research and policy design. Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships were established in 2011 purposely for the identification and mentoring of the future generation of reputable African leaders. All these they gain during a 12 months programme through the Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships Programme Scholarships.
One special feature of the programme is that selected fellows will have the opportunity to benefit from the direct mentorship of the heads of the host organisations. Another feature is that fellows also become members of the Now Generation Network (NGN), through which they continue to contribute their skills and insights to building a better Africa and world at large.
Three lucky fellows are selected each year and they are provided with the opportunity to work in the executive offices of the ECA (Addis Ababa), ITC (Geneva) or the AfDB (Abidjan) with a stipend of $100,000.
The application for this programme is open for the 2022 edition. It is hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Abidjan, UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in Addis Ababa and the International Trade Centre (ITC) in Geneva. Three fellowships are selected each of these organizations. The Fellowship is open for nationals of African countries only.
